Marijuana or cannabis is a mixture of shredded leaves, seeds, stems and flowers that are derived from a plant called Cannabis sativa. The main chemical of interest in marijuana is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).Cannabis smoking is the inhalation of vapors that are released after marijuana is heated. When cannabis flowers are finely sifted, they produce a powder rich in cannabinoids. When this powder is pressed under substantial heat, solid hashish is formed.  Cannabis is smoked recreationally, and it results in a feeling of euphoria or relaxation.

 Marijuana smoking has a lot of benefits that has been proven scientifically. One benefit is that it causes relatively less harm than other recreational substances like alcohol and cigarettes. Relaxation after an exercise is important because it helps in making us more productive. Smoking marijuana is a better way to relax for several reasons. Unlike cigarettes, it is possible to consume marijuana without emitting smoke. Marijuana also causes less harm to a smoker’s lungs than the cigarettes do because there is no evidence that shows that marijuana causes the deadly lung cancer, and one reason for this is that marijuana has about 33% of the tar found in tobacco. Furthermore, unlike tobacco, marijuana does not give rise to the narrowing of air passageways of the lungs.

Marijuana smoking has inspirational benefits as it helps artists and inventors open their minds and broaden their creative thinking and outlook. All other factors held constant, smoking active cannabis has been observed to enhance human imaginations which are very important to an inventor.  This follows what is called the Mind State theory.  This is because delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in this smoke contributes in the spirit development by reducing bodily tensions. As this tension diminishes, mental fears appear to dissolve, which clears the way to more insight. The euphoria that its smoking creates makes it easy to assimilate new information as well as accurately recall this new information whenever a person smokes again.

There are several medical benefits of smoking cannabis. Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol which is an ingredient in marijuana provides medical benefits. Studies have shown that THC helps relieve pain that results from semi permanent diseases like AIDS and cancer, and also alleviate neurogenic pain. When eaten or smoked, marijuana reduces intraocular pressure by almost 25% according to several studies. This reduction is similar to that obtained on taking other recommended drugs. Some patients who are suffering from spinal-cord injuries and multiple sclerosis been observed to have their muscle spasms reduced after smoking marijuana. Other patients find marijuana valuable as it relieves nausea and help them sleep. In conclusion, further studies on the benefits of marijuana need to be carried out so that we can enhance its positive use, instead of issuing blanket condemnation on all its usefulness.
