Evaluation on the poem: “I love you” by Pushkin
This essay which is an evaluation of a narrative poem I love you written by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin (1799-1837) in the year 1815, is perhaps the most extraordinary and exquisite literary legacy of all times. The narrative poems is about a confession of the love that the author harbors for a cherish love which he is unable to confront; this is further displayed by the author anger and rage for his inability and unworthiness, and triggers love and hate at the same time (Onegin, 2003).
The author in the first stanza displays the love that he feels to his audience, he does this by articulating that he has an obsession and thus this makes him anger at himself “I love you and I wage rage on myself because of this confession.” This is a confession that he is making which makes the audience feels pity and worry about the authors not being able to confront the love of his life as he articulates “desolate I lie at your feet.”
The author further concludes that he ought to be wise and try and overcome this feeling, however, he articulates that the intensity of the love that he feels overrides his desire to mixed with love and jealousy, “I have to be wise by time as am too old, but how? Am overcome by this love, in passion guise a sickness:”
The author retaliate that “pour out this love I must, this madness.” Here the audience are perplex by the fact that yet he loves this girl he is not willing to give in to his desire, yet he also further acclaims that he longs to hear he girlish voice, when she is angry then he is anguish, but her smile brings joy which injects his distress.
According to Onegin (2003) the author creates a mixed conception that makes the audience in the end of the poem articulate that although he surely loves and cherishes the girl he is only in speculation and does not act till the girl is taken by another lover. Here he envisions how easily when confronted he fears the girl would deceive him that she harbors same feelings, because he is blinded by love, “perhaps am not worth of love, but if love is feigned, through pretence, I would be easily be deceived.”
In conclusion the author lets the love of his life just walk away, feeling the audience with compassion and pity for him (Onegin, 2003). This literary material is basically depicting how we yearn something or dream in life and do nothing watching for it to just happen, though usually someone usually comes and thinks of the same and advances and takes the idea from us.
