The Effects of media on elections

I have written three drafts on the effects of media on elections. My main area of concern was how social media, for example, Facebook and Twitter have affected the American elections. I feel that I have significantly improved my writing over the three drafts. In the first draft, I used points and particular structure to explain how social media sites have made it cheaper to conduct elections campaign. I gave an example of how social media helps election candidates to save fuel costs that they would have incurred if they actually visited voters while conducting their campaigns. In addition, I also showed how the popularity of election candidates improved when they aired their policies on television. However, the second paragraph did not have adequate examples to support the point that media helps election candidates to interact with many people in a short time. I improved the second draft by giving more examples to support the point that modern media acts as the political spotlight of elections. In this draft, most of the examples were clear and supported with evidence from outside sources. It helped in ensuring that all my assertions received backing from external sources. In the last paragraph of this draft, my main point was that media acts as a spotlight during elections. I supported this point with examples how electorates receive information regarding the campaigns. In addition, I also illustrated how media filtered information by giving limited coverage to less known politicians and more coverage to better-known candidates.
In the final draft, I improved my writing significantly. My ideas flowed more logically compared to the first two drafts. In addition, there were fewer grammatical mistakes compared to the first two drafts. In the last draft, I tried to engage the readers more compared to the previous drafts. I showed the reader the history of media evolved from people using magazines and newspapers during elections to the use of television as the main source of information. In addition, I cited my major assertions with information from credible sources. I also followed the point and particular structure throughout this draft. In the pre-last paragraph, the main point was that media influences the election process by affecting the way people get information in the course of elections. I supported this point with particulars on how people use the Internet to convey messages regarding the election. I also used the points and particulars structure in the last paragraph.
